If ACC has made a decision that you believe is incorrect, you have the right to apply for a review. Deciding whether to pursue that option can be difficult, particularly when you are already dealing with the consequences of the injury..

Preliminary guidance whether a review is worthwhile at all — at no charge

I offer a free initial assessment to help you decide whether pursuing a review appears worthwhile in your circumstances at all. This is a first glance at your case.

This initial assessment is deliberately limited to identify whether your case has merits at all or not at all. It is therefore a broad, preliminary view rather than a comprehensive legal analysis of your case. A detailed examination of the legal issues, evidence and prospects in your individual case requires assessment of the information on your ACC file, and sometimes further investigations.

Why consider a review?

If an ACC decision is not challenged through the applicable review process, it will stand.

A review provides the only opportunity to challenge ACC’s decision and have it reconsidered. A review is the only available avenue to challenge an ACC decision. The way to the district court is not open at the initial stage.

My aim is to help you make an informed decision about whether to proceed.

Fees for assistance

If you decide to pursue a review and would like my assistance, I will explain the proposed fee arrangements to you individually.

Fees depend on the substantive matter, the complexity of the issues and the work required in your particular case. I will explain the applicable fee structure and proposed scope of work before you decide whether or not to proceed with the review.
